Version 2.3.0

What’s new, improved, and fixed in this release.

What's New in Tempered Strength, Update 2.3.0

Release Date: 11/05/2026

This update brings together everything we’ve shipped across the 2.1.x, 2.2.x, and 2.3.x lines — from a richer home and workouts experience to Rainhill Trials, smarter program tools, and a more dependable app behind the scenes. If you’ve been updating along the way, you’ll recognise some of these pieces; if you’re catching up after a few releases, this is the full picture in one place.

Home & Messaging

The home screen is now the hub we always wanted it to be. Alongside the welcome strip and improved program launcher from earlier in this cycle, you’ll find a home announcement banner with optional actions. Messaging is driven from Tempered Strength (Sanity), so we can highlight news, tips, or calls to action without shipping a new build. If something looks stale, head to Settings and clear the cached Sanity app config — the Home tab will pull fresh announcements on the next load. We’ve also reduced flicker on Pro-related banners so status feels steadier when the screen settles.

Programs & Scheduling

Move program days — You can reschedule sessions within your program when the week doesn’t go to plan. That’s phase one of session shifting: move individual sessions within the current week, with broader bulk moves still on the roadmap.

Calendar & session chrome — The sliding calendar at the top of the app is smoother and easier to skim across days. The start session control has moved out of the sticky header so it’s less in the way when you’re scrolling.

Day switching & session flow — Switching days behaves more predictably, and if you end a session early you’ll get a prompt to finish the workout so nothing slips through the cracks by accident.

Notes — The notes area on program day screens is cleaner (including the “copy notes from another workout” control), and previous sessions now appear in the correct chronological order.

Rainhill Trials & Workout Content

Rainhill Trials is fully built out: dedicated workouts, multi-difficulty options so you can match intensity to where you are, and an expanded set of sessions with updated descriptions. The old “coming soon” placeholder is gone — the program is listed properly end to end.

On workout detail screens, movement blocks are separated more clearly so you can scan a session without everything running together.

Workouts Screen & Discovery

Disciplines — A scrollable disciplines bar sits at the top of Workouts. Tap CrossFit, Hyrox, Pilates, and more to narrow the page quickly.

Filters — “All” and specific filters (Partners, Equipment, etc.) behave as a single selector: picking a filter clears “All”, and “All” clears the rest — no more contradictory states.

Pilates18 new standalone Pilates workouts across Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced, from about 20 minutes up to an hour. They live on the Workouts screen without needing to enrol in a program.

We’ve also added tracking links on new features so we can see what resonates and keep improving the right areas.

Reliability & Polish

Account & onboarding — Updating preferences from Account no longer risks resetting onboarding for people who’ve already completed it.

Sync & subscriptions — iCloud sync conflicts are handled more gracefully, subscription refresh is a bit more dependable, and notification styling has had a pass.

Analytics — Logging standalone workouts sends more dependable events to PostHog, with cleaner typing on our side so we can trust the data.

Copy & layout — Wording and layout are clearer across home, records, workouts, settings, the program launcher, awards, and sync-related flows — small changes that add up to a calmer day-to-day experience.
